About Us

Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that everyone has the right to education. Unfortunately, in the 21st century, millions of children cannot have access to education or drop out from school before the end of high school due to war, poverty or lack of support. Dealing with these challenges require problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. Yume Africa emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community in Africa, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Established in December 2020 by a group of Africans from the diaspora, we are a 501c3 US tax-exempt non-profit organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support.
