Help is on the way for students in exam class!

The annual exams are approaching in Cameroon. With COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 exam results were catastrophic in most of the schools due to schools closure for many months, the lack of remote learning and tutoring program. At the Lycée Bafang rural, in 2020, the passing rate fell from 64% to 38%, about 40% decrease. The situation may be the same in 2021.

Yume Africa, in its efforts to assist children to succeed, launched its tutoring program focusing on the preparation of these exams. Tutoring is a great tool to improve students grades, passing rate, develop new skills and self-confidence. 75 students are currently tutored by certified teachers at the Lycée Bafang rural in Cameroon. The teachers are working with the students 6 days a week in an average of 4 to 5 hours a day after class. The program is concentrated on the main courses needed to succeed at the annual exams. We believe this program will increase the passing rate of the school but more importantly assist these children to succeed and be ready for new challenges. We will keep you posted on the results of the program but check out this video to see what the students think about the program.

We would like to do more than 75 students next year with your help!
